Ever since our founding in 1976 as Pyfer Partners, the Lancaster law firm of Pyfer Reese Straub Gray & Farhat PC has grown steadily. Our staff now includes attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. For six consecutive years, readers of Lancaster County Magazine have voted us the best lawyers in Lancaster, PA. Readers of Susquehanna Style have also voted us as Lancaster’s Leading Personal Injury Law Firm, and Who’s Who in Business, in 2013 and 2011.

Selecting an Attorney

Our attorneys have experience and expertise in many different areas of the law. Explain your legal matter to us, and you will be referred to the attorney who is best qualified to handle your case. We concentrate on specific areas of the law, and pursue continuing legal education in these areas of expertise. It’s imperative that you’re able to have trust and confidence in the confidentiality from your attorney. As a Pyfer Reese client, your comfort and confidence in us is extremely important to us. If you choose to retain us, we will keep you fully informed on the progress of your case. If at any time you have questions or concerns, our team is here to listen and help.

Fees

We strive to handle your legal matters as economically and promptly as possible. In most cases, our fees are based on the time actually spent on your file, the complexity of the work involved, and the results achieved. Some work is undertaken on an hourly basis, and in other cases a flat fee is appropriate. We typically request a deposit to move forward together.

It’s important to understand the extent of work we are authorized to do. We will discuss the types of legal work, and the potential remedies for your case. Retain our firm with a clear understanding of the alternatives required for you case and the estimated time and expenses.

Typically, our fees fall into one of two categories:

  • Non-contingency fee matters: These include family law, criminal defense wills, and estate planning.
  • Contingent fee matters: These include personal injury, worker’s compensation and social security. Fees are only paid upon a recovery. Our initial consultation is FREE.

Your bill for fees and costs will come at the conclusion of the case and will be paid from the recovery. If no recovery takes place, your only responsibility is to repay the costs.

We bill on a monthly basis. If your case has any developments that require additional time or finances beyond what was originally anticipated, we will discuss them with you right away. You will not have to worry about any surprises, as we place high importance on transparency.
